In order to make this corsage you will need:
To make the petals, take a square and fold it in half to form a triangle:
Next fold the traingle in half again:
Run a loose stitch along the edge of the triangle, and gather the fabric to form a petal. To keep the fabric together put in a few stitches.
I got this fab pattern from the lovely Beyond Fabrics, where they sell these in put together packs. Would make an excellent gift for any crafter!
Corsage Tutorial
In order to make this corsage you will need:
- Some scrap fabric in two colours
- 2 circles of felt
- A badge pin (although you could easily use a safety pin)
- Embroidery thread
- A big button
Using the templates, cut out 5 squares of each type of fabric.
Next fold the traingle in half again:
Run a loose stitch along the edge of the triangle, and gather the fabric to form a petal. To keep the fabric together put in a few stitches.
Repeat this for the other 4 squares and then stitch the 5 petals together:
Do the same for the other colour fabric and stitch the two sets of petals together. You can then sew on the button.
Finally, stitch the pin to one of the felt circles and then sew both circles together and onto the back of the petals and you are done!
Your corsage is complete! A very easy piece of hand stitching, that can be easily adapted!
